About the Author
Dr Ausaf Sayeed is a career diplomat belonging to the Indian Foreign Service (IFS). He is a patron of artistic and literary activities. He was associated with the Indian Cultural Centre in Doha and briefly with the Maulana Azad Cultural Centre in Cairo. He was instrumental in organising numerous cultural and literary events abroad with a view to promoting India's rich cultural heritage in the overseas, particularly in the Middle East.
He is the author of the book Trends in Objective Geology for Civil Services and other Competitive Examinations (1991) and 7i-ends in Indian Culture and Heritage for Civil Services (2012). He was instrumental in the publication of the book Historic Indo-Arab Ties (2005) by the Consulate General of India in Jeddah.
He has been actively contributing articles on varied topics to different magazines and newspapers, both in India and abroad. His forthcoming publications include, Hajj: an Indian Experience through the Ages and Indian Rubats, Madiyisas and MO in the Holy Cities of Makkah and Madinah and The India Quest-A stimulating quiz book on India among others.
